Yeah, that can be dangerous... But back in the '70's, we went through an oil embargo, and prices soared from change, to triple digits. Many things came about during that time. Hell, NASCAR even banned the big block engines, and made the 355 cu.in rule. Combined with pressure from the insurance companies, the "Muscle Car" died, and the 750-1000cc class of motorcycles blosssomed. Well, we're at $4.00/gal now, "scooter" sales are at an all time high. Insurance rates are going out the roof again, especially on Sport Bikes. Now I ain't the smartest person out here...but it sure looks to me like bikes in the 250-750cc range are about to see a resurgance of popularity, as more and more people join the crowds searching for gas mileage and affordable insurance. Is anyone else seeing what I'm seeing, or am I just currently caffeine deficient? ;D

I don't know of anyone "down sizing" their rides cause of gas yet. I've heard the bike classes are booked up with folks wanting to get out of the cage though. That could be bad news as folks will see the new riders messin up alot but then again it might be good for us as more bikes on the road will maybe get some cagers attention.

If it gets more of the affluent, Dr's, lawyers, Judges, etc on 2 wheels, as commuters, not just weekend warriors, the worm will turn. Laws protecting our sorry asses will be put on the books. Cause they can't protect themselves, without protecting all. Time will tell.

I don't wish bad luck on nobody but a few scraped knees from being ran off buy a cage would probably speed up the process. There was a Hit and run Fatality in Austin Tx a few days ago. I hope they catch the fucker. Eye for a eye.
